Maximize your Article Output with Sony ICD-PX720 Digital Voice Recorder
Sony ICD PX720 Digital Voice Recorder
Writing articles from scratch is hard!
Anybody who has ever written an article online would eventually stumble upon this block: a blank page in front of you and nothing to write about! It is as if the creativity is drained out of you the moment you sit down to write your ideas!
Even if you sit down and start recalling your idea later, you lose so much more details - the muse has left you! As they say: "Smite the iron while it is hot". This is so true!
Why is this happening? Thinking creatively uses mostly right brain, while typing, proofreading and organizing uses left brain! All of those red squiggly lines that you see in all word processors and even browsers like Chrome instantly snap you back to logical thinking!
Working with modern word processors, editing and publishing tools is hard!
Really cool
The solution? Sony Digital Voice Recorder!
I picked one of these a while back for business purposes, but it was collecting dust on my desk for a few months. Dictating replies to email to be transcribed seemed like a good thing, but was too much hassle.
Until I started to write creatively and experienced the writers block. Here this sony digital voice recorder turned very useful. I started to carry it everywhere and record odd thoughts I may have for an article. It started as snippets of thoughts that I could type up later. The voice recorder is really tiny. It can easily slide in a pocket and remain there until needed!
Your muses do not wait on you to get in front of your PC. Record your ideas when they hit you!
The greatest thing here is speed. A lot of cellphones and stuff comes with voice recording capabilities, but this thing beats them hands down. The device boots in seconds - slide the hold button down and press the record button. As little as 3 seconds and you are on your way to recording your thoughts!
Increase your Hubtivity!
While writing creatively online is difficult, talking creatively is not! The rule is: write (talk) and do not edit! Because when you dictate into a digital voice recorder you cannot edit, all of your thoughts are focused on the topic at hand.
Aim for volume, edit it later.
By the time you sit down to write the article, you would have 80-90% of the article complete, and the ideas would be well-formed within your mind. Even without replaying the recording, you can easier recall and type up the entire article in so much less time!
Do you use geo-arbitrage and leverage foreign virtual assistants? This sony IC recorder allows you to download and edit the recordings with the provided (pretty robust) editor. It has been around for like 10 years and greatly improved.
The recorder can hold 500 voice messages, up to 12 hours and has about 10 hours of battery life. The thing just keeps going and going, even on rechargeable batteries!

Conclusion
If you want to improve your article output or just exercise your creative thinking, get one of these. The 12 hour version with a USB port cost me 50$ at Bestbuy. There were also cheaper 30$ versions without USB.
Right now I got material for at least 4 separate articles waiting to be transcribed. The article about the voice recorder was almost entirely dictated, I just typed that up !
